SharkNinja's legal team manages nearly 7,000 contracts a year, nearly double the volume from a few years earlier, as the global appliance maker launches 25+ new products annually across 38+ categories. The team lacked a formal clause library and needed a scalable way to keep pace without months of setup. Its global footprint also meant handling multilingual, cross-jurisdiction contracts that routinely required costly, slow outside counsel review, especially for China agreements.

SharkNinja deployed Ivo, an AI contract review and drafting tool, as a simple Word plugin with no formal CLM integration and no pre-built clause libraries required. The legal team uses Ivo alongside its existing CLM to review third-party paper, summarize key terms, flag risks, suggest redlines, and localize contract templates for different jurisdictions. Ivo Assistant is also used for drafting, template improvement, and legal research.

First-pass contract review turnaround dropped from two to three days to a day or less, and feedback time to internal contract requesters fell 67%. Foreign-language contract review time dropped 75%, and outside counsel sends for foreign-language contracts fell from one to two per week to one to two total, with China agreement response times improving from three to four days to within 24 hours. Non-attorney legal team members can now handle basic risk assessments, reducing escalations to attorneys.
