TÜV NORD's legal department needed to speed up the routine review of standardized contracts, especially non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), which consumed scarce in-house lawyer time and were prone to human error on repetitive, standard-text checks. The team wanted to free up fully qualified lawyers from repetitive review work and reduce the cost of manual contract handling.

TÜV NORD selected Legartis's AI contract review tool, chosen primarily for its ease of use as a Microsoft Word add-in requiring no separate desktop application or IT setup. The legal team built a project structure with working groups to define a review playbook of rules, and after a single training session began using the tool to review NDAs against that playbook, with 16 active users onboarded.

Within roughly three months of use, TÜV NORD's legal team had reviewed just under 100 NDAs with the tool. The rollout drew positive internal reception up to the Management Board, with users reporting the tool made their work easier and saved time, though the company stated it was still too early to make firm quantitative claims about the benefits. TÜV NORD plans to extend usage to prompt-based automation and additional contract types such as general terms and conditions.
