Blendow Group cuts legal document summarization time 90% with IBM watsonx.ai

Blendow Group, a leading provider of legal news, education, and expert analysis in Sweden, needed to dissect, summarize, and evaluate a massive and growing influx of legal documents — including court rulings, legislation, and case law. This volume of work was processed by a relatively small team, creating a need for a scalable solution.

Blendow Group partnered with IBM Client Engineering and NEXER to build an AI-driven legal analysis tool on IBM watsonx.ai, an enterprise-grade AI studio for secure, collaborative data management and process automation. The solution also used IBM Cloud Object Storage, IBM Container Registry, IBM Cloud, IBM Code Engine, and IBM App ID to analyze court decisions, legal texts, and regulations while streamlining legal content creation and preserving the confidentiality of sensitive data.

In its pilot phase, the solution delivered an estimated 70% reduction in the time required to discover and analyze legal documents, an 80% increase in the coverage of legal texts analyzed, and a 90% decrease in the time needed to summarize and analyze documents.
