Cuatrecasas drives 80% daily lawyer adoption of Harvey across 26 offices

Cuatrecasas began experimenting with generative AI in early 2023 and recognized it would fundamentally change how lawyers work. The firm wanted to lead in the legal sector by understanding generative AI’s potential and risks, and by integrating it responsibly into daily practice. Leadership sought a platform that would help attorneys deliver on client needs better and faster across research, drafting, and document review.

After a pilot with 150 lawyers, Cuatrecasas rolled out Harvey firmwide across 26 offices under its CELIA Project (Cuatrecasas Legal Expert in AI), with AI champion groups driving experimentation, training, and adoption. The firm built governance, training, and knowledge integration so lawyers could prompt effectively within weeks. At the core is the Cuatrecasas Research Tool powered by Harvey, integrating more than 3,000 curated templates, legal briefs, and memos; teams also use custom Harvey workflows for M&A due diligence and first drafts of complex documents such as collective dismissal reports.

More than 80% of Cuatrecasas lawyers use Harvey daily, generating over 3,300 prompts, with roughly a quarter of users making more than 30 prompts each week. Harvey is used across practice areas for legal research, drafting, and document review, including faster due diligence term extraction so lawyers can focus on risk analysis and negotiation strategy. Impact is framed as higher-quality deliverables and reinvestment of time into strategy, risk analysis, and client engagement rather than time savings alone.
